The 2010 AJC Peachtree Road Race will mark the third time in the past four years that the event has hosted of the men's national championship. three-time Olympian Abdi Abdirahman of Tucson, Ariz., and the reigning USA Men's 10K champion, clinched the title for the third year in a row at the 2009 Peachtree. Even the city of Myrtle Beach did not escape the wintry weather this year. Unfortunately for more than 6,000 runners, the snowy weather moved in on the Friday night before the popular Myrtle Beach Marathon & Half Marathon. The threat of slick roads and unsafe conditions for runners and volunteers forced the cancellation of the event by the city of Myrtle Beach.

Under the new system, entrants will be able to register for the lottery over a 10-day period between 10:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2009 and 11:59 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2009.
