Katie McGregor, Emily Brown, Meghan Armstrong to Run Reebok Grand Prix 5000m in New York May 30

03_teamusamn_logo.gifMinneapolis/St. Paul - May 28, 2009 - Four Team USA Minnesota distance runners will run in competitions on May 30, with three traveling to New York City for the Reebok Grand Prix meet and one to Des Moines for the 30th annual Dam to Dam 20k.

At the Reebok Grand Prix - one of the nation's premier outdoor track and field meets now in its fifth year - will be Katie McGregor, Emily Brown and Meghan Armstrong. McGregor ran the 5000 at this meet in both 2007 and 2008; Brown and Armstrong will be making their first appearance at Ichan Stadium on Randall's Island.

McGregor has a best in the 5000 of 15:22.60, Brown has run 15:19.57, and Armstrong posted her personal best of 15:41.09 in the 5000 in April. At the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships later in June, McGregor will run the 10,000 meters, Brown will compete in the 5000, and Armstrong will run either the 5000 or 10,000 at Nationals.

The Reebok Grand Prix will be televised on NBC on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. (Eastern). The women's 5000m is set for 5:13 p.m.

Dam to Dam 20k
Traveling to Iowa for the Dam to Dam 20k on May 30 will be Chris Lundstrom who is in his final preparations for Grandma's Marathon on June 20. The Dam to Dam starts at 7:00 a.m. at the Saylorville Dam and finishes in downtown Des Moines. Last year's race had over 4,800 finishers.

Lundstrom has a personal best in the 20k of 1:01:43. Most recently he finished second at the Brian Kraft 5k in Minneapolis on Memorial Day with a time of 14:44.
