3-Marathon Day in Florida
Sunday, Feb. 17, was a marathon day in Florida with events in Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale and Gainesville.
The Five Points of Life Marathon in Gainesville featured a female winner as Viktoria Poludina of Gainesville was first overall in 2:42:37.7. Not only did she win but she also broke the female course record, became the first woman to ever win the race, and set a personal best. First male finisher was Jacinto Joe Fernandez of Gainesville in 3:00:22.5.

At Jacksonville, Tesfaye Girma of New York won the sixth annual 26.2 With Donna in 2:15:40 while Olga Kimaiyo of Hebron, KY, was first female in 2:40:44. Complete results are available at www.1stplacesports.com. The national event raises money for breast cancer research.
At Fort Lauderdale, 40-year-old Tim McDuffee of Boynton Beach was overall winner of the A1A Marathon in 2:40:41 while Pamela Manley of Duxbury, Mass. was first female in 3:00:18. It was the first marathon victory for both runners. http://www.a1amarathon.com.
